The Chief Minister inaugurates the new Research and Development Centre, and the Production Unit for Natural Products on September 16, 2007. Dignitaries, including Smt. G. Arunakumari, Minister for Health Education and Insurance, Sri. A. Ramanarayana Reddy, minister for Information & Public Relation, Cinematography & Tourism, Sri B. Karunakar Reddy, Chairman TTD Trust Board, Sri. Venkataramana, MLA (Tirupati), Sri S. S. Rawat, District Collector (Chittoor) and other senior officials were also in attendance. Dr. C. Damodar Reddy, CEO of the company, gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the importance of natural remedies for human ailments and the need for investment in research in herbal medicines.  In this context, he also outlined  future research activities of the natural products division of SLS. Sri. V. Vikram Reddy, Director of SLS represented the board of directors at the function.

Sugen Life Sciences has been chosen as one of the centers for providing training to clinical investigators. The training programme, funded by DBT, will begin in early 2008.

Our research centre has been recognized by S. V. University for performing research leading to Ph.D. degree in several areas of biomedical sciences. This program will offer opportunities for fostering collaboration between researchers in academic and biotechnology industries, and allow the young scientists to pursue interdisciplinary research programs and obtain doctoral degrees.

Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam ( Womens University ), Tirupati recognizes scientists from Sugen Life Sciences as research mentors.

To provide research support to faculty and research scholars, scientists from SLS were recognized as research mentors to provide guidance to students  leading to Ph.D in Biotechnology and Biochemistry.

Based on the scientific strength, innovative research programs and infrastructure, SLS has received recognition from DSIR as a research and development centre.
